The release of Apple iPad made birth of the new PC tablet era. Many companies start to join the wagon, including Samsung with their first Android-powered tablet called Galaxy Tab (GT-P1000). Officially announced at the IFA 2010, the lightweight Samsung Galaxy Tab will be powered by a 1 GHz processor, a 512MB of main memory, a 4000mAh battery, and Android 2.2 OS. Features include a 7-inch TFT LCD with WSVGA resolution (1024 x 600), an integrated 3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 1.3-megapixel secondary front camera for video telephony, WiFI 802.11n support, Bluetooth 3.0 support, Swype, Flash 10.1 support, and microSD card slot for external storage (up to 32GB supported). Interestingly, you can also use the device as a phone once you connect pair it with a Bluetooth headset. Nice!
In addition, Galaxy Tab tablet will be packed with several built-in Samsung’s apps, such as Readers Hub for reading ebook, Media Hub for renting or purchasing TV shows or movies, Music Hub for buying music, and Social Hub for connecting with friends on various social networks. Detail specs are included at the bottom of this article.
Samsung Galaxy Tab is scheduled to release in Europe in the middle of this month, follows by South Korea, US, and Asia in November. According to Amazon Germany, the price will be set at 799 EUR or about US $1,028. Will it beat iPad by then? Time will tell
